I Played With My Kids Instead
My hair may not be brushed, my house isn't perfect and that's okay, I spent my day off playing with my kids. That's what really matters right? Except when unexpected guest's show up. Guests that talked to the hubby, and made plans that he conveniently forgot to tell me about let alone remember. Then I am absolutely mortified, and oooh is my hubby in trouble. I don't know how people with kids keep their house in perfect showroom condition all the time. I try I truly do, but I can barley find the time to shower between work and being a mom. Is their something wrong with me or is it all just a facade to make the rest of us feel less than adequate? I know that if today was my last day on earth I would want to spend it playing princess castle, getting saved by my white knight (brother), not yelling at them to help clean their rooms. Being a mom is a beautiful gift and I try to embrace it everyday. Why do I feel like a desperate housewife's drop out? Their are so many things I need to do, but I played with my kids instead.

Kids Say The darnedest things Part 2
Note to self: Have a pep talk with kids before visiting a new mom and her baby. We went to see a friend who had just had a baby a week before. I was trying to explain to sister, that the baby was in Jen's belly, but now she came out and is the new baby. Sister proceeds to ask "when the other baby is coming out?" I said their is no other baby just this one. Sister then asked Jen "Why is your belly still REALLY BIG, what's in their now?" Sister has moments like this all the time you would think i'd be use to it by now.
Yeah I'm Officially A Cheer Mom
My little princess is the cutest darn cheerleader ever. So excited for the basketball game, her school is one of 6 elementary schools chosen to perform at the Clippers game 1/2 time show. So proud, my baby is front and center too. I'm sure it's in part to her being the shortest one on the squad. The only thing I am nervous about is her yelling GO LAKERS when she is suppose be supporting the Clippers. LOL My daughter is OBSESSED with the Lakers. The funny part is we have no idea where she got it from, neither me nor my husband are particularly big basket ball fans. She watched one game with me and my sister and has been hooked ever since. She came home from school with a pink Lakers sweatshirt on that she traded hers for on the playground apparently. When the LA Clippers girl came to talk to her cheer squad and asked is the girls were excited, (sister) said "ya but I wish it was the Lakers." The cheer coach almost wet her pants. I always wanted to be a cheer mom. I think I am just as excited as she is. They are doing their routine to "I've Got The Magic"

Why Are The Teachers Giving Me That Look
So my children are at that stage where they are telling tall tales. Not lies, just elaborate stories that happen to not be true. According to my stack of books this is completely normal and actually healthy for their brain development and creativity. Whatever!!! (brother) started telling these stories to his teachers unbeknown to me, I began getting "those looks" at school. So I started asking how he was doing in class. The teacher would say things like, we tried to take it easy on him, or he so resilient. Strange as it seemed that, seemed the teacher said nothing else. I chalked it up to him not being use to school, and being upset when I leave. Today I learned just how wrong I was. While walking back to the car I asked my son what he learned in preschool today? He says "I learned that sometimes mommy's and daddy's don't live together but they still love their kid" What? I decided to go back and talk to the teacher. Apparently he had been crying in class all week because "his dad lived at work, mommy was really mad that daddy went to the hospital and almost died" and lets not forget the scratch on his arm that he got when"him and daddy beating up kids at the park with lifesavers." All I can do is Laugh, he is so full of life and imagination. What am I going to do?

Divine Secrets Of A Domestic Diva
Mornings at my house are crazy, chaotic and unorganized. After working until at least 1130 or midnight, I get up at 630 to get two kids ready for school, lunches packed, dressed and hair done, homework in backpack and out the door to (sisters) school by 730 and then on to (brothers) school. From their I don't slow down it's the grocery store, errands and so on. Needless to say I have no time to get ready in the morning, but being somewhat of a vain fashionista, I have a trick for not looking like a mess in a dress on the school yard. Flat statement boots and BIG Jackie O sunglasses, and don't forget the calm smile, thats all you need. Even sweats look look fashionable if they are accessorized right. The other mom's are always complementing my look, and how organized I (Appear) to be. If they only knew last nights mascara was all over my eyes, and ran out the door two in arm jogging the two blocks to school just to make it in time.

I'm convinced that 4 is the new 2
Who ever said that the 2's were terrible must not have had a 4 year old. My once sweet little boy turned 4 and all hell broke loose. He is a force to be reckoned with, and thats putting it lightly. How do children learn how to talk back, thats all I want to know? We don't talk to him like that. Do we?
Kids say the darnedest things
I am a happily married, working mom of two one 5 year old girl (sister) and 4 year old boy (brother) Ever since my children started talking they have said the funniest things, today was no exception... When I dropped brother off at pre-school he runs out after me and says "Mom don't forget to wipe your but good when you go poop ok" Got it kid.
